Be still, my heart

The sheer amount of nostalgia I'm feeling is beyond words. I'm about to go tear apart my parents house to try and find my old Gameboy.

Thanks so much for sharing this. It was fantastic!

PS, it's far too hard to trying to get through a level without any robots dying. When I thought I had it, an f'ing turret would kill one of them.

Great game, but a few bugs

This is a really great game, but unfortunately there are some really frustrating bugs that are keeping me from giving you a perfect score. On the first level where you have to leap onto two collapsing platforms, if you die and have to restart, 9 times out of 10 the platform will collapse the second the level starts. It should have been an easy level to pass, but unfortunately it took FOREVER because I failed the first time around and had to restart the level dozens of times. Another level, my character fell down a pit where the should have died, but instead just fell right through the bottom in a endless free fall. Because there's no option to restart the level without dying, and my character never died, I had to refresh the page and start all the way back at the "neutral" level with the blacksmith's shop. The level I finally gave up playing on (the one after you're given the 3rd set of fighting and sword styles, and you have to send your falcon out winding around small corridors to pull a bunch of levers for you), entire chunks of the level just vanished after I died the first time, making it impossible to pass.

You really do have a good game here, but the bugs keep it from being truly amazing.

Good, but...

I was really enjoying this game until I got 10 rooms in, beat the Death Machine with ample health remaining, and the game decided that I lost anyway and made me start over. Because of that, 3/5 7/10.

This game is a lot of fun, but making the player start over from the beginning if they die is ridiculous, especially if this game decides to kill you randomly after you complete a room. Make the "retry" option allow you to start again from where you died with all of your upgrades, but a with a reset score. Fix that, and you've got top scores from me.

Good, but...

I'm pretty much in agreement with everyone else. This is a really fun game, but it needs polished. I'm really surprised at how glitchy it is. I can't get a single upgrade to work. Even after buying entry to the "gents", it's still locked. If these issues were taken care of, you'd have top scores all around from me.

Needs work

This would be a fun game if you fixed a lot of things with it.

First, add sound some music and sound effects.

Second, the computer is WAY too hard. I played a game of 301 and the computer only threw one single dart that wasn't at least a 20. Most of its darts were worth 50 points. Also, on it's last throw, the computer needed 31 points to win. It hit a double bullseye worth 50 points and won. That's not how the game is played. If you go over, your score is reset to whatever it was before your last round of throws.

Last, add Cricket to the game list. That's the only dart game worth playing. ;)

Well...

It looked like it was going to be good, but in the very first puzzle, the bus drove right off the road and never came back. That, and that fact that everything moves soooo slooow made me stop playing pretty quick.

Fix the bugs and put in a "speed up" button, and I'll give it another go.

Not bad

I actually liked it. It may be because I have an afinity for all things zombie related, but this wasn't bad at all. I do have some suggestions tho:

First of all, its way too hard. With the automatic reloading and increase rush of zombies, it's impossible to last more than 30 seconds. I would give it more of a "Defend your Castle" feel (if you don't know what game that is, Google search it). Give it stages that you have to pass that gradually become harder, and put some upgrades in so that the player doesn't become bored. I'd suggest making new enemies with each round (bigger, tougher, faster zombies, maybe an occasional "boss" zombie). I would also make each zombie worth a certain amount of money that you can use between stages to upgrade your weapons and defenses. Maybe even find occasional "survivors" that can help you fend off the horde.

Second, just a few minor cosmetic details: I noticed that the zombies that are supposed to be further back, and thus show by being elevated over the zombies that are closer to the screen, actually walk on top of the other zombies. It makes it look like they're walking on each others shoulders. Just something small that I find a little annoying. I'd also add some music and some more sound effects, like zombies grunting, etc.

Last thing: during the time it took me to write this short novel (and I only spend the time doing it because I think you have the potential for a really fun game here. This is all constructive, not meant to offend), the zombie horde has continued to grow in mass, and is literally bogging down my computer. You might want to think about sending it back to the start screen when the player dies.

That's about it. Overall, you've got the potential for a really great game here. I hope you work on it a little more and heed my advice. Good luck!

Great game

I really enjoyed playing this. It's incredibly addictive and I didn't stop playing until I beat every level. One minor complain, however. The ending is incredibly anti-climactic. "You win." Come on, man, I just spend half an hour beating your game. Give me something bette than that. ;)

icarus responds:

Lol you're right..something more like you win! would have been more appropriate.
In all seriousness It was very rushed hence the crappy ending...but i couldn't really think of what else to put lol.

Great work

This was incredibly put together and scripted. I loved the music and the style. It was just difficult enough, but I beat it on my first try... think my score was 15230 or something like that. Anyway, great job, hope to see more like this from you.

Great Game

This is awesome and you did an amazing job with the code. How is this NOT on the front page yet? One problem tho... when you try to buy the wig (or whatever it was called... the top row of items on the far right), it won't let you type in an amount to buy. You may want to fix that. Other than that, pure genious. THIS NEEDS ON THE FRONT PAGE!
